Spring Trends Volume II: Lavender

This week’s post is dedicated to my favorite color for Spring, lavender. Is it just me or are lavender and lilac pretty much the same thing? I guess lilac is a tad bit more pink. Nonetheless, I consider them essentially synonymous.

I can’t exactly put my finger on it but there is something about the color lavender that evokes happiness for me. Maybe because it reminds me of blooming purple Tulips and Hyacinths. The name of the street I grew up on was Hyacinth Pl. For this reason, Hyacinths hold a special place in my heart. After all who doesn’t love something that reminds them of being a child?

I wore a lavender sweater downtown last weekend for the car show. It is an annual tradition to go to the car show with my family, although in past times it had been a boys only event. I love the way the purple color of the sweater made me feel like it was spring, even though the weather had not quite gotten the memo.
